okay today is a good day. my parents finally agreed to let me start learning driving. i patiently/inpatiently waited for 18 years and it is finally gonna happen! i've probably lost count on the number of times i have dreamt about sitting in the driver's seat and driving a car. wahh, its finally gonna happen. UNCLE!!!
ALRIGHT! ENGINEERING MECHANICS IS FINALLY OVER! wahahahaha in your face, UNCLE! hahaha btw, uncle refers to my lecturer/tutor. you see, in the school of engineering, almost all the lecturers and tutors are all above 50 years old and have pretty much a hell lot of white hair. as such, we call them uncle and aunties amongst ourselves. haha.
oh well, i didn't go bartley today since i wasn't really in the ziteng-must-study modd today so i spent the whole afternoon watching FRIENDS! haha OMG joey is so cute. haha
and then i went for badminton. wheeeee
okay picture of me me me me. i recently loaded some Paris photos onto flickr so i'm just taking my time to post it here. well, basically this was the hotel that i stayed in paris disneyland. the hotel isn't really IN IN disneyland itself, but its part of the disneylands land area. so yea, my mum and i stayed here for 2 nights and it was a rather enjoyable time in disneyland. the place we stay in was pretty cool, it had a rather cowboy-ish theme to it(as you can see) behind me is the hotel lobby and restaurant where we had our breakfast.
and what you i'm wearing isn't what i normally wear there, i wore another yellow colour jacket because it far too cold just to wear a sweater and a tshirt. but i wore it like that because we just went down for breakfast and planned to go back up to the room to get our stuff and go into disneyland.
if i remember correctly, on that morning(which this shot was taken) it kinda rained, so i was pretty pissed as it was the day we were supposed to go in to the themepark. but oh wells, the rain eventually stopped but the temperature remained pretty low for the whole day and we only saw the sun for 5 mins. the temperature that day range from 4 - 10 degrees. but quite shiok. haha

Egineering mechanics paper is tomorrow and i'm quite excited for it. because once i end this paper.. i'll only have ONE PAPER LEFT!
hmm i've been thinking of what i'll be doing during my 6 weeks of hols.

- catch up on my cycling & swimming
- play more badminton

studied at bartley church again till about 2.30 today. i think i'm getting the hang of complex numbers! but whatever it is, i still don't like it! bleah.
i'm just praying really hard that my results can proof how much i've been studying. out of 5 days this week, i spent 4 days chionging engineering math and engineering mechanics, surely it has been useful and contribute a nicer grade to my GPA.
after monday's paper, i'll need to chiong engineering mechanics inside out, outside in. i don't want to see that lecturer of mine again. even though he's a nice guy and all, his teaching sucks to the max of the max of the max!!!! wahhh
okay i need to charge up my batts now. shooting church event tomorrow wheeeeeee. wonder if a 17-50 and 30mm can do the job.

right..
so basically, i've been studying at Bartley Christian Church for the past few days since wednesday. i've no idea why but these few days have seriously passed so quickly. its like, i'm studying the most boring subject of engineering mathematics, and yet time still passes so fast. something is wrong with me. oh well, it has been an enjoyable time spent at Bartley church (besides the boring studying or engineering mathe and engineering mechanics :( )
after observing a few days in bartley, i honestly feel FMC needs to be more united as a whole but i shan't elaborate further.
and i must say i must have the best conversation with alethea after 5 years..
Alethea: wow i can't believe you still remember me.. how ahh?
Me: hmm, do you remember me?
Alethea: yea.
Me: yea there you go. same same
so anyway, besides studying, we played.. pepsi cola. haha wahh when i first heard they were gonna play i took a few minutes to remember how to play it. haha

wait a minute...
i decided to go study at bartley church today. if i remember correctly the last time i was there was about 13 or 14 years ago for my cousin's wedding. and when i stepped in again today.. WOW, its beautiful. though it was quite a boring time studying and stuff, it was quite entertaining to see people like james making a fool out of himself and ming hui getting suan-ed at. hahahaha. damn joke.
james walked out of home with the wrong set of slippers. wahh good thing it was both black in colour, if not, its seriously quite dumb. haha. and for ming hui, everyone just suans her. haha. wahh quite sad but... very amusing. and their church mates are rather funny as well. man i wonder what my nieces will become next time.. like them? oh no.. haha.

i seriously seriously can't believe it! i'm actually studying harder than what i did for O levels. i just hope my results show what i say. bleah :(
so anyway, i decided to study out today.. studied with Dawn at starbucks, united square. but before that i went to orchard for dental. i tell you, everytime i step into Paragon for dental, i always feel like shopping. all the nice nice stuff, its like.. "see no touch, touch no see, see and touch must pay money"
so anyway, studied engineering math at starbucks. it was quite an enjoyable time. i studied Log and i think its relatively do-able thing. yay! haha. i think the studying thing has gone into me, now all i think about is studying, which kinda sucks cos i'm not supposed to be like that.. normally.

money money money
so basically now on my Have-Fun-In-HONGKONG-fund.. i've saved over $250 dollars. well technically it wasn't really savings.. part of it was a love gift and part of it was from a paid shoot. and i'm happy to say in less than 2 months of my saving up plan, i'm almost 50% done! excellent! another 4 months!
hmm, i wonder what i'll be doing during my 6 week holiday after the 31st. i'm hoping to get a job or something.. earn a few hundred dollars or something.
i'm seriously hoping to get myself a decent ultra wide angle lens. i can't stand the fact that i need to stand slightly further back when shooting group shots during an event. for this case, its a need, not a want :) so yes, i'm hoping to get either a tokina 12-24 or 11-16 by the end of the year.
i'll be getting a lowepro lens case 1W within this week or so. trading with someone for my optech strap. one to one exchange.
okok enough with money matters, things will solve by itself, no need to worry.

okay i think many of you might know, i'm quite a money minded & self centred person. usually, i will only do things that suit me and stuff. and i think i'm quite known for doing that. whooops
but i guess, if you put a little love and PATIENCE and effort into doing things. you'll get rewarded with more than you can ever imagine.

UP and away!
i watched the movie, UP, today. i was just dicussing with hannah in the afternoon about how so-so the movie will be and stuff judging by the number of empty seats there were in the cinema when my sis and i did the online booking. but the movie turned out to be not that bad after all. it was pretty funny. and i felt quite sad when the guy's wife died and he was all alone at home.
how i wish i could find and blow enough balloons and lift my whole house and fly to some place. but honestly, judging from the size of my house, i'll need a few hot air balloons to lift it off. and i guess i'll probably be able to land my house at... bukit timah hill? i mean... what are the chances of it flying to even malaysia?
and one thing about PIXAR movies/films. their animations always have really really beautiful colours. did you guys see te colour of the ballons. wow if only my 40D could produce that sort of colours without postprocessing.. it'll be awesome!!

oh wells. i have officially ended my EG 1024 module for semester 1! i must say today's paper was easier than i expected. i didn't have much problems on my open ended questions, but the MCQ was a little bit imba la.
i just came home from my badminton game. and OMG, i need to build up on my stamina, it seriously sucks the juice out of me.
so i guess during my sept hols. i'll be chionging badminton and swimming... anyone want to join me? haha

Lesson for the semester has officially ended as of today. man that was a pretty fast 18 weeks.

i had AutoCADD final test today. i think i did okay. after the test i realised i made the same mistake which i had always made in my past work pieces. haha! oh wells, at least i've gotten a decent looking grade for AutoCADD considering the fact that i joined in this class 3 weeks late.
i headed to NP after sch to study. i knew if i were to go home i wouldn't do any work at all. and amazingly i managed to study my Manufacturing Tech book today!i spent from 1-2.30 at the library reading through, then 2.30 - 4.45 at Makan Place writing out some notes.
shot this pic during wei shieng and stephen's wedding. it was taken while the phototaking was going on, and this group of CFers asked this uncle to help them snap a few photos with the couple. they passed him all in all 4 cameras to take. haha poor uncle had to one by one take. but i was seriously amused by it.

i never knew American Idol is on in the US now. my sis is gonna watch one session of american idol as she's currently in the US. so gooood. hmm for me, i guess going for a Don Moen concert and to hillsongs church in sydney is good enough for me. i seriously seriously should have gone back to London earlier this year and visited the Hillsongs London church. technically my mummy and i was supposed to travel down to London then take the Eurostar train all the way to Paris Disneyland, but we didn't. sighhh stupid me!!!
and apparently during the time i was in the UK, Joel Houston, the lead singer of Hillsongs United, was in UK in view of the mixing and editing the music from the Tear Down the Walls album they performed in the USA. ahhh. okok i don't care i wanna get my butt back to Sydney!
which brings me to my next topic. HOLIDAY!

Onward Singapore?
today just doesn't feel like national day, apart from the fact that most people along the streets were wearing Red colour shirts. so was i! and i only realised it when i stepped back home. how smart right? :O
talking about NDP. not sure whether you guys read an article in the papers about a cab driver who pastedcar decals in view of the nation's national day and the cab company told him to remove them because of safety issues. well, to a certain extend i guess the cab wanted to do his part in lifting up the mood. BUT, did you see a picture of his car? the amount of decals and stickers he has is kinda massive, so yea, i gotta agree with the cab company saying that its a little too over done. any comments bout it? :)
oh well, so anyway, i was supposed to meet gloria and dorcas for lunch after church today but they last minute couldn't make it in time. sighh.
my sis and i went shopping for a walk at ION Orchard. i found it quite dumb that there was a Crumpler Store there because there is already one store just opposite ION Orchard at wheelock place. but in any case, i bought back a Crumpler Industry Disgrace strap, a black colour one. it was kinda cool, since today was national day, customers had to voice the national pledge to enjoy a 10% discount in the store. hahaha, so yess, i said it once thru and i was given a 10% discount. paid $22.50 instead of $25.

yesterday was a rather stressed out day. sleeping at 4am and waking at 7am was no joke. but i forced myself out of the comfy sofa bed in the Loft at NP. fuji and i walked down to the bukit timah market to get breakfast for the CFers. at the market we bumped into his church mates which so happened to be my cousins! much much older-than-me cousins. breakfast was pretty much awesome with alot of suaning and alot of chilli. wahh why the uncle put so much chilli!
walked out NP with hannah and ming hui, after whhich i cabbed down to church. it was fortunate that i bumped into sing ee so she managed to briefly explain to me what will be going on for the wedding in the afternoon. i was quite pleased that the practice went even better than i expected, so did the music ministry's items as well. the wedding went well too.
when it came to the group photos part. i started to worry. but in any case, i took out my 40D, switched to glori's tokina 12-24 & 580EXII. and all of a sudden my camera's shutter mirror flipped back up and showed an ERROR 1 icon. wow i seriously had a shock of my life... here i am shooting someone's wedding pics and my camera dies on me??? so i unmounted the tokina off my camera and into glori's 450D and same thing happened. i guess i was a little comforted at that moment as the problem lies in the lens, and not the camera. so we chaged to Tv mode and the rest of the shooting went rather well :)
i'm hoping to get a set of photos from glori when everything is done.
ANYWAY, Ming Hui kinda captured an "LOL" moment during the LTC of hannah..
from this week on, i will try to make a point to capture a funnier shot of someone every week.

i stayed over at NP yesterday for a Leadership Training Camp under CF. it was pretty cool stuff.
started off with dinner at makan place.that was when i realised Ming Hui isn't as quiet as i thought she would be. haha.
we had worship then a sermon on leadership and stuff and after that we played settlers which lasted all the way till 12.30am. we got back to our cool cool apartment and i took the best bath in the world... i swear. haha. at bout 2am chessa, van, me and some other peeps went down to the petrol station to buy some snacks and i bought ice cream and root beer. wahh massively HEALTHY. after that i headed over to one of the guys units and i chated with sherwyn and james will almost 4 before going to sleep. wahh that was a rather interesting time of talking, ridiculously funny.
sadly, i had to leave at 9am this morning to go church. buy oh wells. i guess i didn't lose much :D

A Team Day
i seriously almost screwed my whole evening shooting the A Team Day. i left my fully charged battery on my table at home and my battery in my camera was 3/4 dead. it was really a miracle that my partner's friend so happen brought his camera which was a 40D to school on firday.
oh well, so basically, me plus another sch photographer photographed the Ambassador Team Day that evening. used my 40D + 17-50 + sigma 30 and 430EXII. i actually wanted to use the club's speedlite 550EX but i lent it to the other photographer as he was... flashless.
