Wall E
after church today, i went to watch Wall E with joshua, his gf and daniel.
wall E is super super cute. haha super super super cute! and the amazing part of the show is that... it can capture the audience's attention even though 60% of the show... there weren't any conversations. its kinda awesome
kinda good that i've a week's break from school. i think i better get some work done and pack my room as well.

RSAF Open House 2008
i went for the Air Force open house alone today cos my friends weren't interested in going.
left home about 10.30. reached the Air Base at about 11.15am. security was very tight. the army officers checked every single camera bag to see whether we have lenses that the focal length is more than 500mm, they also checked to see whether people brought in extension tubes.
when it came to my turn. the officer opened my bag. from what he said to me i could tell he has photography knowledge. then he asked me to open my camera bag. he checked my camera and lenses and i told him i longest focal length is 50mm... then he asked me whether i brought extension tubes. then i was thinking... why would he care whether i rbing extension tubes for? even if i had brought one and i mounted it on my camera and lens the logest focal length i'll get is only 100mm. oh well.
then i started my tour and shooting. their equipment is gonna cool actually but very similar to last year's open house. and the sun... oh my... was really hot!
after about an hour alone... i saw some of my cca friends so i just followed them fr a while then i headed back home.
argh i want a new lens! like a telephoto one! but i need the dollars man.

YES YES YES! D&T is handed in!!! i'm gonna hate D&T for the rest of my LIFE!
yea so after handing in my project i met tiffany at the caltex bus stop then we bus-ed to paragon together. haha argh i was one who was late. BOO!!! :(
at paragon i went up for my dental while tiffany waited for priscilla. wow today was a painful experience man. my dentist cleaned my infected gums again plus cleaned a cavity he found. argh!!! can cry la. he fixed my broken bracket too.
after the painful appt, met the girls then we crossed over to taka's food court for lunch. not fair la i ordered Fuzhou Fishball noodle the aunty gave me the normal fishball. NOT FAIR!!! i want tha meat inside the fishball man! haha then priscilla and i shared tako porchi. not bad not bad.
then i walked them to far east then they went back school. i went back home.
I WENT SWIMMING! hahaha
i've been wanting to go swimming ever since being in the midst of prelims. so i finally went today.
from home, i cycled to bishan swimming complex. parked my bike the started swimming at 3. swam for bout 1 hour 15mins. swamabout 20 labs today. quite happy with myself.
the tough was when cycling home. haha my legs were aching. i should do this more often... can build up my stamina and lose weight!!!
All-in-All. today was a good day. enjoyed myself very much.

ever watched Man VS Wild on discovery channel? i think its so so cool!
i went and cut my hair like super super shot. just felt like it. i can't stand it when my hair grows so thick. i've never ever cut my hair this short since primary6! but nevermind. short hair easier to maintain.
so how has everyone been? i really can't wait for prelims to end in... 26 hours time. then i'll party like a mad cow!
i've 4 hours to wait tmr before my 2nd paper starts. i plan to finish my stupid D&T project then i don't need to go back on thursday. thursday is for me to party. haha but i'll need to go dentist first. kinda sad that i haven't played badminton for the past 3 weeks.
i wanna change my blogskin. i think its time to change the black to a white. how does that sound? but... i dunno how to change:(
YAY!!! finially managed to do this shot. hehe
its quite simple actually. all i needed were a table lamp, black colour bag, my tammy and my camera. position the lens such a way that most of the light will fall in the word 'tamron'. after taking a few shots, loading it to comp and editing it. its DONE!!!

i quite enjoyed the sermon today by elder Jeffery Goh. he said... "since we have this priveliedge of Authority. we should use it to bless people." never occured to me.
when i got up for youth today. tin tin told me the TEENs are once again organising a trip to malacca, malaysia. i would really wanna go again this time round. some unhappy stuff might have happened during last year's trip. i hope i can come clean and go this time again. but i do know for a fact that ONLY if there are spaces left for us then my year people will go.
i really wanna go.
lets see, how am i gonna spend my time during the hols...
i end Os on 11th. if i go melacca i'll have about 2 weeks to lalala my time away till the 23rd nov. then come back on the 1st dec. hopefully i can fine a job in the multi-media industry and earn some money. i'll hope to earn a few hundred bucks so i can fund my interests. it'll be even better if i can earn more than a thousand!
i'll probly go JB for a weekend in december as well.

7 stitches
i've no idea why, but i got reminded of about my 7 stitches. its been years since that incident popped into my brain.well even though i was still so young i still could remember ever moment i went through. like every single moment.
i don't think many may know. but when i was bout 6 years old, still in K2, i met with an accident which resulted in 7 stitches at my chin.
year 1997, during one of the Lim's family gathering in my uncle teck ee's semi D in bishan i was runnning all around the house with my 2 nephews. those twins were only a year younger than me so i was closest to them then.
while playing Catching with them in the hall, i ran up the steps at the hall and slipped from the marble flooring cos i was wearing socks and the floor was really slippery. normally any human being, when losing thier balance, will reach thier hands forward to stop thier fall right? i didn't thought of that. in fact, the first thing that landed on the ground was my chin. this resulting in quite a big open wound cos the skin on the chin sorta teared.
from what i heard, when they first saw the wound.. it was pure white, like the colour of raw fish(except salmon). then came the bleeding.
i think i was crying quite loudly(only 6+ yrs old then what!). then my mummy carried me on her lap and use countless layers of tissue to try to stop the bleeding, which didn't really succeed cos my bleeding only stopped later in the hospital.
i could still remember that everyone was crowing round my mum and i seeing what has happened. but i can't really remember who was there. i just knew there were more than 10 people crowding round me.
my dad went to get the car and my mum carried me into the car. off my dad zoomed off to SGH A&E department. during the time in the car, all i knew was that my dad was speeding like mad. never in my entire life till today did he drive so fast. then i was lying on my mum's lap and her hand was constantly pressing against the wound and changing countless numbers of tissue. i knew that cos there was this big pile of bloody tissue next to me in the car.
when we reached A&E deparment, my dad dropped us off. my mum left me somewhere can't remember then went to register my name. then my dad came and carried me. i think after that a nurse gave me this transparent liquid to drink. this was actually supposed to make me go into deep sleep so that the stitching can be done without me screaming in pain cos i think i ws too young for an injection. BUT NO... i was wide awake.
we had to wait quite a long time before it was my turn to be stitched up. there was this young girl too who had a similar accident like mine. the only difference was that YES she's a girl.. and she was in deep sleep cos of that liquid which looked like sprite but tasted like shit. seriously.
then a nurse called out my name. so my dad carried me in to the operating room. i'm positively sure we went thru at least 3 rooms before we reached the operating room. there, the surgeon wrapped me up in this green fabric so that i won't have any movement while the stitching. the lights were super bright. the only shadow i saw was the surgeon's, the thread and 2 needle-liked thingys for the stitching. my dad was there to hold my head tight so i won't move it.
OKAY, now try imagining this, you were supposed to be sleeping during the whole mini surgery but you weren't. furthermore, you weren't injected to make you sleep or numb the area of that was gonna be stitched.
RESULT: PAIN!!!
yea it was reall really pain. i can't remember how the feeling was like but it was real pain. but amazingly, my dad told me that i didn't cry. i should have been tearing but all i said was," very pain... very pain." cool huh?
i think that night i reached home at midnight with 7 stitches on my chin. i looked like some kid with hair growing out of my chin.
what an experience...

Boo Boo
today is the funniest and the sianest day ever. its indian rojak. everything all mix together. hahaha.
the day started off having D&T. it was quite fun and exciting cos my classmates and i are about to finish up our projects which were supposed to be due like today(but extended to next thursday YAY). then off we went for lunch at the canteen. then D&T-ed somemore till it was time for... ENGLISH O LEVEL ORAL
i thought the waiting time for my turn could make me calm myself down and take a nap but in the end i started talking to my friends. haha sigh... i've a crazy bunch of classmates
then came my turn, i was 5th in the register to by 3pm i was asked to go in to be tested! :(
the passage was OKAY. the picture was funny. hahaha cos in the main picture there were 4 people. there was a man, then 2 ladies, then another lady who was a teacher in a science lab. then i talk talk and talk and ran out of stuff to talk... then i said," oh oh oh, the man at the extreme left looks like he is not interested in the science experiment because he isn't even looking the what the ladies are doing!" i hope they give me marks for that man...
then came to the conversation... on of the quetions asked were," do Women make better scientist than men?" i was like... DOTDOT DOT. HOW IN THE WORLD YOU WANT ME TO ANSWER THAT???? but i still answered la... giving my politically correct answer. haha don't ask what it is.
then after oral my class D&T students came back to the studio to continue our project but i think we did more of talking than doing work. hahaha. we're seriously full of crap.
and now... i've no idea how i'm going to watch fireworks... its raining!

i'm very amused by my cousins. i'm not sure whether sixuan or siyan does... but my cousin, siyue, called her brother by "Brother" and father by "Father". haha totally cracks me up.
so like during a family gathering we had on saturday at my aunt's place... then Ziyi, siyue's brother, came in later cos he had something on earlier then she went," HELLO BROTHER!"
hahaha i'm happy that my sisters don't call me that.
then after eating when we were sitting in the hall watching the table tennis match of china against singapore, uncle teck seng, siyue's dad, sat and watched together but he was sitting on a stool. and just that either Ziyi or sixuan got up from the sofa so there were 2 vacant seats on the sofa. then siyue went,"eh father, sit on the sofa la"

woke up later today cos i had no paper as today was for the A math people.
changed my dental appointment from 2.30pm to 10am. cabbed down to paragon with my mummy. seriously, the paragon market place at the basement sells the most expensive foods la. like one piece of fish is $8, 5 pieces of tiger prawns is $13. NUTS la!
then went up for my dental appointments. i told uncle kah chai bout my pain coming from my wisdom tooth area. he reached out the X-ray(NOT STINGRAY! hahaha) and showed me. the conclusion we both agreed on was because of the ring that was inserted round my 1st molar. thats why my 2nd molar had to be pushed back... and that made the wisdom tooth and the 2nd molar collide.
which means... i've to extract my wisdom tooth. yes this would be the 6th tooth i extract in a year. hurray! :(
i've been using listerine the pass few days to lessen the chance of infections.
the bottle on the left is tha mouth wash he gave. and i got a new tooth brush too

i had that sudden urge to just write... "just send these old people to concentration camps and gas them like what hilter did!" i really wrote so much and i had no other reason to give.
after the paper did D&T for a while then had lunch.
sigh you know what? i left my D&T folio on the bus. only after i got off i realised. i chased the stupid bus la! good thing near the bus stop there was a traffic light. OR ELSE... i'll fail my D&T for sure. i know its hard to believe what i just said.
oh well. tmr i've no paper and school!!! but i've dental. my dentist is gonna change my wire/ bracket and i'm not sure what he'll do to my infected gums. BOO!

giants calling out my name
oh man. i'll only collect my film camera after prelims. cos YL told me the camera isn't ready for collection.
i was quite pissed-up last night. i've set aside my friday night to prepare for worship which i'm leading tomorrow at youth. but just as i was looking for chords and lyrics.. my home wireless connection DIED. just when we needed the internet most urgently something cock-ups.
but nevermind... since i'm doing God's work he'll provide.
since i had nothing to do, and didn't wanna study, i watched olympics. and am very thankful that i watched it. i managed to catch the badminton semi-final women doubles. it was a tough fight of china against korea. but with no surprises.. china wins. they get the gold(once again).
and not to forget the Team Singapore and thier table tennis. i think people should just stop commenting about li jiawei. give her a break la. it ain't easy to play for olympics la.
and as for tennis. i think the top players are slowly getting trashed by moderare players. USA, played my James Blake trashed Swiss which was played would no. 1 Roger Federer. and for the ladies... Jancovic, world no. 3 got trashed by safina. really sad.

ah well, i haven't been feeling to well. i found out last night that the gums inbetween my 2nd molar and my ever-growing wisdom tooth is bleeding. and the gums is slightly swollen. i think what triggered it was when my orthodontist inserted the metal ring in exchange for one of my brackets for my braces. i don't really want it to happen... but i think i might need to extract my this ever-growing wsidom tooth.
that would be the 6th tooth i've extracted in a year! i bet no one can beat my record man. 5 is already a good number of teeth. and i don't want to go thru that few months of discomfort again.

History paper was easier than i expected. like seriously. Gorbachev's glasnost and paretroika came out for SBQ, and i did rise of Nazi power for SEQ. hope i do better than mid years.
D&T- ed after school with choo and hong. it was pretty fun... urgh the DEADline for submission of course work is coming really really soon!
then met gerald at starbucks to study but we didn't do much cos we were talking most of the time. well cos we haven't talked to each other for a really long time. it was good:)

NDP 2008. i wouldn't give it too good a rating for this year.
my dad and i reached the floating platform just 5 mins before pre-parade started.
i dunno but i felt a little sick and sian. and to add to the sian-ness, it began raining. BOO! ha i saw the Magnum performance... not bad:) then blah blah blah
Parade start. hahaha someone from the military band march wrongly!!!! neh ni neh ni poo poo! haha no la its actually not easy playing a trumpet and marching and following the best all at the same time.
and i stoned during the national anthem and i was thinking..."why is my dad singing the national anthem so loudly???" hahaha
going back was chaotic! we knew city hall and raffles place would be 'people mountain people sea' so we took a walk all the way to bugis then took train home. hahaha

i would think all schools in singapore celebrated national day today...
my school did for sure. i shot the event together with another 3 photographers.
my equipment today were my 400D, tammy, 50mm, sj's 85mm. tested out the batteries that sj sold me too. not bad. can take close to 450 shots.
i mostly used the tammy and 85mm didn't really took the 50mm cos my tammy already has the 50mm in it.
took a couple of good shots. HA after the parade it was AWESOME man! some of us together with Jared went to a very isolated place in school and started cam whoring... but for that section of photos i won't post just yet. just that 30mins alone i took over 80+ shots. hahahaha that was really fun. BUT i wasn't in any picture because i was taking them. HAHA
went back to admin room, chilled abit then left for united square. i did my history SBQ then met tiffany for lunch at pastamania. we had bacon aglio. hahaha i'm starting to fall in love with that dish! lunch was great...
then headed to BK at novena for a while to do some work...
and tonight... i'm going fish & co for dinner!!! YAY

He never sleeps
today started the sec4 & 5 prelim exams.
we had our EL paper 1&2 and CME.
when i saw the topic we had to do for compo... i smiled to myself and started writing like mad. the topic was Disaster, and just last night i read from Reader's Digest about the 2 man stuck in that tight situation. so i just wrote the whole story line plus changing some facts. hahaha i'm happy happy!!!!!!:))
sigh but paper 2 was just nuts la. dunno what stupid spanish crap they talking bout. :(
CME paper was the stupidest paper i've ever done in my life. like seriously... just gotta give the politically correct answer.
YAY tmr is NDP! and i'm shooting the event tmr! haha its kinda cool that i'm not even a school photographer and teachers are asking me to shoot the event.

Good Day
during EL lesson today, my teacher told the class to find an article in the papers to read it. it might help in my writing and comprehension for tomorrow's paper.
instead, i started reading an article in the most recent Reader's Digest.
its about how these 2 good friends Pike and Christie(both guys) climbed a Mountain in New Zealand last year. while their 2nd day there at night. the mountain, which was an active volcano erupted all of a sudden.
due to the fact that they were too near the crater, Pike got seriously injured. His right leg was being crushed by a big rock. his left leg so badly injured that his bone was sticking out of his skin.
Christie without hesitation rushed down to base camp to alert the authorities and within 4 hours rescuers managed to get him out of the really tight situation and he was rushed to the hospital.
it was only when he woke up hours later that he realised he had lost his right leg. being an active sportsman, he was devastated... but he came to his senses
(and at the end of the article, Pike said)
"Its was like just one of those things. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time. So I'm not angry and I'm not bitter. I expected to die up there but i didn't. The way i see it, from now on, everyday is a good day."

after reading all 4 pages on the article... the last 7 words were IT that impacted me. i mean going through 4 hours of loneliness and extreme pain as though you won't get to see another day... and managing to survive it. its truely a miracle. how many of us here gone thru something so devastating and still say," The way i see it, from now on, everyday is a good day."
i'm certain for sure i haven't come to that stage where if anything happen to me... i say that. i'll probably be asking myself why i was ever born.

prelims start tomorrow... so is DEADline for D&T but my class guys aren't gonna care about it and only handing it in on the 22th aug.
i need to start charging batteries. i'm gonna test out the photixx batts SJ sold me this friday.

why do teachers punish students when they don't bring thier homework to school? and let off those students that bring thier homework which is most of the time undone?
the fact that some didn't bring could mean that they have done thier work right?
i think some teachers are weirdos man...
apart from this, i was quite mad at a teacher in school today... i really thought she didn't need to express her anger until like that.

haha last night's msn-ing was something new... stalin is a starfish, trotsky is a horse and lenin... a cucumber. Fun with History eh?
i didn't sleep well last night, maybe i should have talked on the phone more...
when i woke today i felt sick. i knew i would be cos i could feel something strange in me that wasn't working right. nonetheless i 'pon' tuition today.
and my friends and classmates are quite worried about the MT O level results which will be released either this or next week. hahaha good thing i don't do it anymore...

DEAD.
i thought today would have been a 'sigh' day... but some people just make the day great.
i borrowed a canon 85mm f/1.8 lens from sj in church. looks kinda cool but when i first tried the lens on my own camera body there was a Error 99. but good thing everything is fine now.
youth was alright...
lunched with gerald at united sq. Bacon Aglio tastes ubber gooooood!!!
i got home and studied then KO-ed on my bed.. i didn't know why but i was so tired cos i went cycling before that.
then my sis woke me up and asked me to go swimming! WOOHOO!!! sigh i suck... i swam for 4x50m and i almost died already. hahahaha!!! but i swam 12 laps la..which is 600m. YAY!
after prelims i'll go swim more! who wants to follow me?:P

i finally made myself go school today for scouts. actually i went there to do D&T. hehe. so my attendance was marked... and i managed to get some work done on my folio!
how i wish i was the one being mentioned...
sigh my D&T dateline is really really soon i'm going to die la. but thankfully my class people aren't the worst yet. there are some pro ones who haven't even finished building the product.
next week i won't go starbucks to study. i'll go macs cos its cheaper...

oh happy day:)
today is at least a day i can leave school with a smile...
lessons were enjoyable today with the exception of math. during contact time sec4s and 5s went for a career forum at the concert hall. i thought it was rather interesting...
and i ponned chem remedial again. i went for D&T instead. cos i think i'm so so much more productive in D&T than chem. i did D&T for pretty long then i decided to go to the tennis court for the NDP parade reherseal. i brought up my camera with me to snap some shots.
i think drill standards for every UYO has dropped. hopefully they do well next friday.
