A Team Day

today was and is by far the longest day i have ever stayed in school before.

8-10am was AutoCADD which was so unproductive! i spent 2 hours doing 1/3 of a drawing. hahaha ohh the pro-ness. haha.
10-1pm was stoning time. i tried watching iron man on my laptop but failed to. so i decided to check out handphones and crumpler bags. i'm hoping by the 25th sept there'll be nice nice nokia phones around. and also, i'm considering getting a crumpler 3 million dollar home for my 40D + sigma 30 f/1.4 or maybe just a lowepro off trail 2. but since i need to keep to my no-shopping-before-HK-trip plan, i shan't buy it just yet
1-3pm was the old uncle lecture. at least he told us what to look out for during the exams. whewwww:S
3-4 was boring boring math :(
4-6 was AutoCADD again. at least it was more productive. as of now i'm only left with 1 drawing and i'm all set for my AutoCADD test and i'll be done for this module.
6-9pm was at the Ambassador Team's "birthday" celebration. was once again their photographer. it felt kinda good meeting up with them again and shooting for them. and this time round it was easier to shoot for them as i know the seniors a little better and i got to know them a little more as well. i honestly feel the Ambassador Team is way better than the NYP student union.

oh well, now i need my rest

10 hours!

this week has gotta be the most tiring week in school so far. we've an extra 5 hours of AutoCADD lab lesson this week and its killing me.

because if this.. from monday to friday, my class has school from 8am to 6pm, except for thursdays where we end school at 4pm. but that kinda sucks arhhhhhhhh :(

oh well, i'll be photographer once again for the Ambassador Team Day this coming friday. i'm hoping i'll be able to get the speedlite 550EX from the club!

You Hold Me Now

the hillsongs concert yesterday was mega awesome! i was kinda glad i kept listening to their songs the fast 3 weeks. i was able to appreciate the music better:) but the team sang newer songs from the CD Faith+Hope+Love as well. sadly Brooke Fraser wasn't present for the concert. it would have been better if she was there.

after church i headed to SMU to photographe a group of graduates including Shuang Han. to be honest i was rather scared at the first few shots i took. but after a while, i was having fun shooting. maaaaan, i wanna do more of such shoots!

AWESOME. Shuang Han msged me yesterday asking me to help her and her friends to photograph some graduation photos for a group of SMU students.

so currently, i'm browsing throught flickr looking at all sorts of graduation photos. they might come in handy!

will be using a 40D, (maybe 450D), canon 10-22, tamron 17-50, sigma 30 f/1.4. i wanna try strobing! calling jeremy chan... haha

don't play play

i think i complain alot.

you know, i think Singapore is pretty good in giving directions and instructions to people. Yet, some not so smart people can't seem to follow them. this is especially so when boarding and getting off the MRT train.

why can't people understand that if they wanna get in the train, they gotta let people get out so that they will have more space to walk in. why are they so foolish as to think they'll beat everyone if they step in the train first.. not sure if anyone notices that recently in the NEL trains when you look into the television you'll see PCK singing some song just to remind people about what i have mentioned, and yet, all these information just go through their minds, not into them. also, at the door of the MRT trains, you'll see PCK and his 'wife' posing some weird position and theres a bubble saying," don't play play, give way..." OMG do you mean people just think thats a joke? Red and Green arrows are also marked on the ground to alert passengers to stand behind the line... and if you didn't know, Red is a universal colour to alert people about something, ya like that also they can't follow. wow

and the best part of all, the adults are the ones that do it, i very very seldom see teens or young kids doing it. so much for educating the young ehh...

do you know what my highlight of the day was? it was when Fuji and i cabbed to NP from NYP.

CF today had a serious shortage of people. in my CG alone, hannah, ming hui and chrysan didn't come today. hmmm is was pretty empty today. oh wells, hope more people make it next week:)

my family was discussing over dinner of our holiday plans for the end of the year and a place worth considering was Hong Kong! actually, i really don't mind going Hong Kong! last time i went HK was in primary 4. but it was pretty cool, ate alot of dim sum!

testing 1 2 3

i know its kinda ironic with what i said in my previous post. but sometimes, Singapore's transportation system really tests my patience. every train or bus today, i waited an average of 10mins for each means of transport. sian, i even had to wait 20mins for my KFC meal :(

OH WELLS, CT has ended!

after CT i made my way to Harbour Front to Canon Service Centre to drop mo get ity camera off it fixed. and guess what, they fixed my camera within 10mins! & it was FREE OF CHARGE! totally awesome.

after that went to orchard to collect my wireless shutter release trigger. luvin' it :)

people undivided

ever since i came back from my holiday in europe, especially for Paris, i noticed that Singaporeans including myself are very impatient people.

take for example, while waiting for the train.. i still remember that afternoon when my mum, sis and i took a train from Newcastle to Edinburgh. man i was literally counting down the minutes for the train to come, my fingers were from holding the camera for too long and my butt cheeks were frozen from sitting on the metal bench too long. i was really really wanting the train to come quick. but as i looked around the train station, every single local or who looked like one was just patiently sitting/standing for the train.

another thing i noticed was that traffic in Europe is very different, maybe its an asian thing but singaporeans, including myself, are really impatient along the road as well. impatient/experienced drivers will use every chance they have just to overtake a car which happens to be slower than them. even for me, when i cycle along East Coast park and theres this really irritating cyclist who cycles at a speed of a walking turtle, i'll cut into the opposite lane and move back in to the original lane. in Europe, people just take things slowly, they'll be happily waiting for the traffic light to turn green before moving off. in singapore, you'll see motorist inching forward little by little and just ast the lights turn green, they'll ZOOM off. really big difference.

i also quite like the way the French greet one another. everywhere you go, you'll hear people saying,"Bonjour..." like for example, my mum and i went to the shop just below our hotel to get some food and the first thing the cashier says is ,"Bonjour". but in singapore, the cashier will probably just say," please pay five dollars and forty cents please...".

or like the time when my mum and i took the Bus around Paris city to visit various places, everytime someone boards the bus he or she will greet the bus driver," Bonjour" or even in the UK where people actually greet the bus driver. Most people in singapore including myself would care less about the driver. for me, the most i'll do is to give the driver a smile.

kinda cool that though all of us may be living in the same earth, we behave so different. some like cultured people, some like monkeys.

AND, do the French every get sick of greeting one another "bonjour" over and over again?

Make the difference

i almost spent my whole day at ngee ann poly today.

after my CT paper i headed to np. was supposed to meet dawn and josh for lunch but apparently josh overslept so it was only dawn, and her friends. we had SUBWAY. wahh cookies FTW man.

and i managed to study a good 3 hours at the CF room and learnt how to play bridge(little bit only)

but i enjoyed CF today. i lead in games and the sermon was rather a slap in the face, yet again.

long time ago

i didn't have any papers today so i stayed home.. but i did cycle to potong pasir MRT to meet ZX to get my 40D back. first time cycling to potong pasir, i must say its pretty fun cycling there. there are not too many cars but alot of SA students. haha.

oh well, friday i gtg harbour front, sighh. service 40D!

i seriously should have just bought a brand new 40D from my cousin's CG mate in the begining of the year. 1.3K ONLY. why only? cos with my next service of the camera, it'll be close to 1.5K!

nevermind, i'm just praying hard the money needed to pay for the repair drops from heaven, like what happened the other time :)

OMG OMG

i'm done with my individual report and PD report as well! ARGHHH i'm so happy. take that Mr Yap and Ricky! muahahahaha.
but i must say i really enjoy having lab lessons and tutorials with mr yap. he's a really coool fella.

i can't believe i actually stayed home all day doing work. the furthest i went away from my house was the front gate to open for dad's car to go in. arghhh tomorrow i wanna go out!
