Europe!
Bonjour! haha
this europe trip has been a really good trip, the UK especially. got to see my sis, eat loads of food, visit castles, eat loads of junk food, visited paris disneyland, climbed up the effiel tower, visit the lourve and visited Rolland Garros!
okay okay i shall start posting the pics. its impossible to post all today so i'll post those that i took on the first and 2nd day.
equipment used were my 40D, tamron 17-50, zexun's 85 1.8 and glori's tokina 12-24. i used the tokina 75% of the time, 20% on my tamron and 5% on the 85... like how i predicted it to be.
20th March
#1 my family had dinner at sakae sushi at T2 before my mum and i boarded the plane. after dinner we went in early cos i wanted to see whats T3 like, so we took a sky train from T1 to T3. and do you know... T1 and T3 are linked! haha
#2 we flew on the KLM dutch airline. i didn't really expect much from this airline as i've seen quite negative reviews on it. but i must say i'm quite (not very) pleased with it. their service is good, their planes are new.. well, at least the one i was in.
#3 i was really happy when i saw my seat. there was so much legroom. the thing was this, the whole time before the trip i kept praying that i'll get good seats on the plane and i did! Thank God for that. oh well, i watched the Eagle Eye, Madagascar 2 and the Dark Knight on the flight to amsterdam, schiphol. haha and slept a little.
#4 after 13 hours of flight we landed at 4.45am Europe local time. it was 2 degrees when we landed. COLD! anyway, we had to wait for about 4 hours for our next flight to newcastle. so we sat down, bought a cup of hot chocolate and waited for Macdonalds to open at 6.30am so we could eat breakfast.
#5 i fell in love with the sky the moment i saw it. isn't it beautiful? its something you don't see in singapore.
#6 so while my mum sat and read a book. i walked around the airport to look see look see... and i shot this. OMGosh schiphol airport is so huge that it can accomadate so many flights! its 7 screens for 1 terminal!
#7 at 8.55, we took a KLM cityhopper plane to newcastle. the plane was a really tiny one, even smaller than a BOEING 737.
#8 so we landed at 10am in newcastle, we took a train from the airport to newcastle station to meet my sis and we had lunch there too.
#9 wahh singapore should have more of this
i'll stop here for now. i've alot more pics to post. will be in camp from tomorrow till thursday. sighh it feels so troublesome to pack again. arghhh

hello people.
i'll be flying to Paris in a couple of minutes time, in the airport now. i've got alot to talk about.
anyway, the minute i touch down to paris, i'll be taking a coach straight to DISNEY LAND!
i think i've experienced the coldest weather for the trip. when i first landed in amsterdam that morning, it was 2 degrees. durham's weather was awesome, i could even walk without my jacket on. scotland has been around 10 degrees. for paris, it should be around 16degrees.
oh well. bye

yess, me is having fun in europe. today's temperture was pretty good. 15 degrees in the afternoon so i could take off my jacket and roam around newcastle, durham.

- 2 Tshirts for sleep
- 2 pair of jeans
- 1 pair of track pants to sleep
- 9 pairs of undergarments
- 6 pairs of socks
- 1 wind reebok windbreaker
- 1 columbia sportswear jacket (in case it gets too cold)
i just remembered! i left out my towel. haha. i shall pack that soon. i needa pack battery charger plus adaptor.

750 ONLY! :(
okay, personally, i wasn't really pleased with my shooting today. i guess it was a little hazzy today. so we ended up taking ONLY 750 shots. why ONLY i say... because my main objective is to cover at least 6000 shots. yes.. so its very very little.
tomorrow liwei and i would be doing some night photography, hopefully i can hit about 2K shots tmr. NO TIME NO TIME! easter event is on the 10th april!
man, the kids grow up so fast

its just stupid.
i'm still thinking why canon would be so smart to keep my camera for a week then start repairing it. and the worse part of it all is that my camera problem can be solved within 30mins, and they choose to keep it there for more than a day so that i'll pay $120 instead of $80 for labour charges. its stoooooopeeeeeeeeeed!
but i guess the good thing is that.... I'VE GOT MY CAMERA BACK!!!

England Awaits
yes yes yes i'm really excited about the trip. haha.
as of now, i've 10GB memory worth of compact flash(CF) cards. my aunt gave me another 2GB today at granny's house. i've gotten hold of the tokina 12-24 from glori today as well.
tomorrow onwards, i seriously gotta start packing. tuesday i might be out shooting the whole day, wednesday working whole day, thursday pack pack pack, then friday go off liao...
oooo, i'm finally gonna collect my camera tomorrow!

you know, i feel really blessed. i've been very fustrated over the past week that i've to pay $133 for my camera's repair. i mean, i've the money to pay for it, but i was really really unwilling to pay so much money for that stupid repair. and hey guess what? due to a recent photoshoot i shot for, i recieved $150 today. you know... not only i can pay off for the camera, i get extra money, isn't that awesome? i'm really thankful.

walk walk walk walk in suntec :S
i managed to settle some stuff today.
1 - i popped by Charles' house along bukit timah today to collect 6GB worth of CF cards. Thanks Charles!( if you ever read this)
2 - i've just finally settled the set of photos i'm supposed to pass to uncle kai eng tomorrow.
3 - ooops i need to prepare lesson for tomorrow. arghhhhh
anyway, i'm gonna start ranting now.
OMGosh whats wrong with suntec city today man! the whole world was practically in suntec city! isn't it supposed to be the recession now? why are people still buying stuff like nobodies business.. i saw one fella carrying a canon photoprinter, a nikon dSLR and a set of speakers out of the convention halls. arghhhhhhhh.
okay technically i wasn't there to buy anything, i was following my sis. hahaha. but i did help her choose a camera to buy! and no no not a SLR, its a fuji f60fd. haha
oh well, there were like a few billion people at suntec today, there was just no room for a fat person like me to walk through.
tomorrow! collect tokina from glori, lesson with jess, wax and polish car.

MPMS
today's IT show was just "PEOPLE MOUNTAIN, PEOPLE SEA" -translate into chinese
my goodness, it was just humans everywhere! you know, it was so so crowded so much so that the only time i could actually see the floor was when i left the convention centre! the place was just packed with a few (HUNDRED) THOUSAND people!
well, i guess it was pretty organised, prices for the IT stuff were quite cool. the cameras unfortunately weren't.
today was also a good time with my old classmates. talked alot of nonsense with them. they think i'm jealous of them because they've gotten their acer laptops. WHATEVER man.

time sure passed slowly today at work man. its no wonder Haagen Dazs is cutting down on the number of hours part timers can work. the past 3 weeks i've only been getting 10 hours of work each week, same goes for next week. sighhh.
my to do list for the next 3 weeks:

yes the Liwei & team part. he asked me a few days ago to help him shoot a "couple" of shots for the easter presentation. i shan't reveal what it is now but i think its gonna be awesome! i'm expecting to take at least 6K worth of shots just for the presentation alone.

Novak!
i think my blog mainly consists of only 3 topics. photography, cars and tennis. (anything else?)
anyway.
the Davis Cup 2009 tennis championship just started in madrid. its only Round 1 and its already so interesting. currently, i'm watching the Final Day or Round 1 :Spain VS Serbia. so for tennis geeks like me, you'll know world number 1 Rafeal Nadal would definetly play against world number 3 Novak Djokovic. the tennis they play is just extreme! sad to say, i don't quite think formal world number 1 Roger Federer should be seeded as world number 2 now, Djokovic should have been no. 2 long time ago.
currently my number 1 play is Novak Djokovic. i totally lost my respect for Roger Federer after the recent Australian Open held at Melbourne Park.

i just ordered a CPL filter, should be mailed to me by friday. and i'll be buying a 4GB CF card from charles for just $10. i really gotta thank him for that. Good thing usually come to those who ask. haha :D
and my mummy told me she wants to pay half for the cost of the camera repair. WHEWWWW.
oh oh oh, and the singapore IT show is starting tomorrow at suntec city convention hall! i should be going with arnold this friday. well, not that i've the money or wannna buy anything. just look-see look-see.

ARGHH.
i went to canon service centre today. i told the lady at the counter what my camera's problem was. she gave it a check, when she came back she quoted me $125 before GST.
and the breakdown of the payment is... $5 for correcting the problem, $120 for labour charges. OMGosh.
arghh whatever man.its for the good of the camera, will be collecting it on monday.
and my boss is going HK tomorrow morning. i so wanna go there and get my camera fixed!!! stupid HK warranty!
i can't even afford starbucks now!

fly/eat/sleep/walk/shoot
my oh my, i'm really counting down to the day i fly to europe!
so far all i know is that on the 20th march at about 10pm, my mum and i will check in and go in straight away and explore the 'inside' of T1 before boarding our plane leaving at 10.50pm.
so we'll fly for about 13 hours, then we'll reach amsterdamn airport. after that, take a domestic flight via KLM to new castle. then we gotta take a train from newcastle to durham where my sis would be waiting for us.
gotta start packing soon...

i did 'some' shopping again today. bought 2 bermudas from john little, 2 polo tshirts from giodarno and 1 nike bag from Nike. and my sis and i are really disgusted by NYDC! i've no idea how the present a mud pie to us because the dish looked exactly like 2 scoops of ice cream. sighh.

oh well, another night at thomson green photographing the wake.
during the sharing i was reminded that we should constantly remind ourselves to treasure the people around us. i think this is pretty applicable to me.

i need YOU!
i've been asked to photograph a funeral wake service for the next 3 days starting tomorrow. its my first time shooting such a service so i'm a little worried because i'm not sure how i should go about doing it. i mean, i've brought up the question on clubsnap and people have been giving some good advice. i'm still a little worried.
whatever it is. pictures won't be posted here or flickr. only selected few.
the next thing which worries me is that my camera(40D) has been getting a little cranky lately. on tuesday i was actually planning on sending in to canon service centre to get it fixed but it needs to be on hold now since i need to shoot for the wake service. oh man i really hope it the problem doesn't get so bad.
okay i'm a little stressed now.

yesterday!
YES! now i remember what i did yesterday. gosh! it like took up the most time of my afternoon and i couldn't even remember it. must be the shopping that made me forget what i did.
i waxed and polished my dad's car! well okay it was part of the car only because it was pouring man! so basically, i waxed and polished the front bonnet only and applied rainX to the 8 glasses; front windscreen, tailgate screen and the 6 side windows. actually its kinda fun. just that it kept raining so i couldn't really do much.
and the best part of it all. i'm getting paid! WOOHOO!
i so need to go for my medical checkup soon.

retailing
i've been doing quite some shopping lately :D
i bought my hushpuppies. my change in camera. then was my camera backpack for the trip. my crumpler camera neckstrap.
yesterday i bought a pair of shoes from queensway shopping centre, today i went giodarno and bought 2 tshirts and 3 pairs of socks. i wanted to buy bermudas and jeans but didn't have my size. SIGHH. i wanted a size 36 it was out of stock. then i went BHG to see whether they have bermudas. they do! but the colour is kinda ugly. why is the black colour bermudas so BLACK!? i was hopping for a nice grey one... oh well, will look for them at john little.
and going back: i'll be getting my lightsphere soon too. hopefully can get it before scouts investiture.
the good thing is that i only needed to pay 40% of the stuff mentioned, but almost 80% of the total bill. oh well, i better use the rest of my hols to save money and work more.
OKAY i seriously forgot what i wanted to blog about.
