i am more or less gonna get a mini photography job in the middle of the month of July, after my common tests. helping Shuang Han's friend go around the SMU campus to take pictures with various people.
and apparently not just one person but a few more people are thinking of getting their photographers taken in view of their graduation. well, its indeed a little stressful but i guess it'll be a great learning experience.
the charges haven't really been decided yet. well, i was reading my photog friend's blog (Melvin Ho) and he recently posted on his blog saying he plans to help this small kid(not his child) who's a cancer patient to off set a little amount of her medical fees. and i was thinking, hey, maybe i could do something like that too. as such, though i'm intending to charge $50 per hour, i'll be setting aside $10 from each $50 i earn to give to charity.

Gaffer
i need to start packing for a 1 night camp. will be staying over in church tonight for worship retreat.
well, i just ordered a roll of 5metre long gaffer tape from Shuttercentral on CS. i'm someone who doesn't really treat my camera well. in a sense that i just throw my 40D + sigma 30mm in my sch bag and go to school. so yupp. i'm gonna gaffer my lenses and 40D.
well so anyway, i decided to search on flickr the word 'gaffer' to see how people make use of the tape for their cameras and stuff and i came across this picture...
so cute and cool right? this goes to show how strong gaffer tape really is! haha when i've a kid next time i'll try that. HAHA

EAST COAST!
today was an awesome day. i had quite alot of fun cycling at east coast with CFers. i just felt that the group could have moved a little faster together, then we might have managed to go changi village. but oh wells, it doesn't matter, as long as we had fun!

all for nothing..
alright alright, its official. NYP and RP will be extending their 2 week school holiday to 3 weeks in view of the H1N1. so, i would only be resuming my lessons on the 6th of july!
i think if yu fang see's this she's gonna scream. haha. so yess...
i went out with my sis today, ate at cafe cartel for lunch, spam alot of free bread, ate ribs and drank a chocolate milkshake.. but no milkshake in the histroy of mankind can ever beat the ones at Billy Bomer's hahaha. after that i went to buy a Microsoft mouse for my laptop. after that we went bishan and i bought ice cream yogurt! healthy healthy ice cream.
and tomorrow is gonna be an awesome awesome day out cycling. but honestly, i still feel a little scared of cycling due to my near accident a few months back. you know ever since that near collision i've not cycled since then. sighhh. oh wells. from east coast to changi village.. how bad can it be?

that'll do
yesterday after lunch i went to a shop to change my ipod touch's screen protector, they did a pretty good job in fitting in the new screen in. after that i went to bishan to meet yu fang, before that i went to buy a silicon casing for the ipod. all in, $20. it was cheaper than i expected it to be.
this morning i went for dental appt at paragon, after dental i decided to go to the 4th floor of paragon to look see look see, i went in Crumpler to see whether they sell any camera lens cases but don't have. then i walked down to World of Sports to look for a Nike shoe bag which i bought it, then i went to The Planet Traveller and bought a Eagle Creek mini carrier which i can use to put my swimming stuff or extra clothes where ever i go. $19 + $24.

i'm back!!!
i really enjoyed the 2D 1N at KL + church camp, apart from some annoying little things here and there... it was awesome. i got to know some really cool individuals and also got to know my friends a little better. yay!
pics taken with 40D, 17-50mm and 30mm and 430EXII. pics shot at the beach
were all taken with the sigma 30mm f/1.4. i'm so in love with the lens. shooting wide open at ISO 100. i can have a shutter speed of 1/8000. totally coolness.
#1 on the 14th, sunday morning 7am, my parents and i met christine and sing ee at christine's house and off we headed to 2nd link in 2 cars. after we cleared customs at the malaysia side, i moved over to sing ee's car... which was a good thing if not she would have made a wrong turn and we would have reach KL a little later. haha
#2 on the 15th, we took an early check out from our hotel and made our way to MidValley shopping mall. we had lunch at Madam Kuang's before heading off to Kuantan.
even though we were one of the nearest to Kuantan, sadly, our both cars were the last cars to reach the hotel that day. i guess we underestimated the time taken for the drive and also we made a wrong turn as well. so we reach the hotel about 7.15pm... JUST IN TIME FOR DINNER! HAHAHA
#3 so the next morning after breakfast, steph, nick and i went to take a look at the beach. i must say that was the finest sand i've ever stepped on. its like, if you were to take a step down onto the sand, your feet can actually move about 2cm down. haha so soft and nice. but its a really pain washing it off la. bleah

#5 after our last theme talk for the night... some of us went to the beach to chill (for a while). the beach was really really cool. we decided to do a few jump shots, pics on facebook.

you know what? i really didn't expect to fail my BASIC theory test, but i did :( i guess i gotta try harder next time. oh well, what comforts me is that i'm in no hurry to get my driving license so i can take my time.
i headed to block E with keong and han jie for the Ambassador Camp today. they were campers where as i was a photographer. i enjoyed the shoot pretty much. i quite like how the CCA functions and they're rather nice people, funny in fact.
alright i need to rest & pack my stuff for church camp

one more time.
after school today i rushed down to Singapore Poly to crash their camp, it was pretty fun. after dropping down my bag at the room i went to look for the peeps who were playing their dirty games. i bumped into Hilda's group who were playing some water bomb game, i knew if i wanted to use ZX's lens i should not be anywhere near that site so i decided to go search for the others near food court 3. hilda tried her best explaining to me, of which she gave me wrong info, where the rest were. haha good thing i double checked if not i would have landed myself at the other side of SP.
haha so i found the other group and i stayed there for the rest of the afternoon. it was pretty cool. that was also where i tried out the BEAST! haha okay its just a camera lens thats all. haha.
well, overall, today was a gooood day. pics will be up.. tmr night. if not, after the 19th june.

Ho Ho Ho. today would be the day i get my hands on another L lens! borrowed laaa, no money to buy new lens now. ZX's lending me his 70-200 f/2.8L IS.
during my spare time today in school i was reading through my BTT book, wahh i can't wait to sit for BTT and pass it and start practical manzzzzz! do you know that the bus lane hours are from 7.30am - 9.30am & 5pm to 8pm? and for roads with the red lines on the road for buses, its from 7.30am till 8pm? apparently peggy said it was important. haha

Roger Federer has finally won the French Open for the very first time and getting his 14th championship title with winning all 4 major tennis grandslams! wahh i'm happy for you, federer. it was kinda cool when Andre Agassi gave out the trophy to Federer and Soderling yesterday.

FINALS!
wahhh today is the Roland Garros Finals! Federer VS Soderling!
anyway, i've officially stopped working at haagen dazs already. even though i kinda miss the ice cream sighh but oh wells.
and i really can't wait for my 2 week break to start! whats lined up during the 2 week break for me...
12th & 13th june: i'm photographing a CCA camp held in school. the camp is supposed to end on the 14th, but because of the malaysia trip, i can only shoot on the 12th and 13th.
14th june: so yess i'm only realised from camp at 8pm on saturday evening, then i'll need to go return ZX's L lens(if i borrow it). on the 14th early morning at 6.30am, my family would be driving up to KL to stay over one night and to do some.. SHOPPING!
15th-19th: will be driving up to Kuantan for church camp from KL.
20th-22th: either one of the days.. meeting up people for Ben&Jerry's!

i'm such a bad student, during my lecture today i watched Yes Man. hahaha wahh ubber funny man. and AutoCADD was pretty cool today. for now, we aren't needed to use AutoCADD to do our drawings.. we need to draw them out using pen and paper on isometric paper. haha thank god i did D&T in sec school. it was pretty easy.

" This year's French Open is damn screwed!" - this was what my classmate told me while we were talking about tennis today. hahaha
oh wells, today was our last lab lesson on the Milling Machine. and because we were behind time, i had to pair up with my classmate, Henderick, to finish up our metal piece. wahh i tell you, today's the best FAIL day la. haha
Henderick was so impatient that he made a huge lobang in his metal piece.. and me, sighh i failed math..
you seem, i was supposed to calculate the middle point of the metal piece, so i counted right infront of the lecturer," okay the length is 20.2mm, so if i devide it by 2, add 5mm... i will get 7.5mm. YES SIR! 7.5mm!" sighh, and i only realised my mistake when i realised my lecturer was staring at me with a blank face and my classmates laughing at me. hahaha. then my lecturer told me," aiya Matthew, stop what you're doing and go back ECC(previous course) la!" hahaha.
but still, nothing beats my classmate. 2 fridays ago during our math tutorial, our tutor asked us," now class, whats 0 x 1?" wahh my friend immediately said," 1!!! " HAHA! then 10 mins after he made that mistake our tutor asked," okay class whats -1 + 4? " then the same very dude shouted ,"5!" and from the way he said it, we could tell that he really shouted the answer out without any thought one. haha wahhh Math is fun...

OMG today's weather was just so so so so so so so so so so hot. i was standing under a bus stop and i was sweating like some mad dog.
and i'm pissed that for my stooopid Personal Development Module, i need to built some stupid parachute for the Assignment 3. so GHEY!!!
and why can't my common tests be before my term break?! why must it be after the 2 weeks term break?? its so dumb!
and OMG Nadal & Djokovic are out of Roland Garros French Open. today marked history of Tennis at Paris la. after 4 years consisting of 31 matches in total, Nadal gets defeated by world no. 23 6-4, 6-7, 6-2, 7-6. okay so now i'm just hoping Murray takes home the championship
