Lonely Planet
exactly 3 weeks time at 10.50pm, i'll be flying to Amsterdam from T1.
well, so yea, my sis passed me a Lonely Planet guide book of Europe to read before i fly up, and to my amazement, i got scared while reading just the introduction of the book. hahaha
cos the book went like... "oh, Britain is generally quite safe, BUT........." and it went on and on and on. hahaha wow rather encouraging i would say. but whatever they said, i've taken note of them long time ago.
so i shall state here whats gonna be in my carry-on bag...
-THE BAG. haha
-water bottles
-a book (i shall attempt to read on the plane but i guess i'll be watching movies and sleeping instead)
-FOOD! SWEETS!
-at least 1 set of clothes. i always have that whenever i travel overseas.
-padlock for the zip. a MUST HAVE.
( so thats basically what i have on the upper side of the bag)

and you guys must be wondering how huge the bag is.. yea its pretty huge. and the cool part is that theres a similar model thats like much bigger than my one. it can fit a 17" laptop. OMG!!!
this is my fav for the day. funny moment of mr wong and jared talking about the scout sign. totally hilarious. haha

i collected my camera strap yesterday! oh well, its brown in colour, i would have prefered the black colour one. but nonetheless, i still love it! THE INDUSTRY DISGRACE!

Industry Disgrace
early last week while i was browsing though the Buy&Sell section of clubsnap, i found a lady selling a crumpler camera strap, the Industry Disgrace. and since she had a selling price for $22 i thought it was quite a good price and also, she only used twice. so i sent her a mail asking to sell it to me.
however, she replied saying that someone had already reserved the strap. sighh but nonetheless i told her to let me know if the buyer backs out cos i'll totally get that strap.
AND thank God i told her that!
last night i recieved a msg saying that that buyer backed out the purchase, so which means, the strap is mine! yupp so i'll be collecting it tmr at novena.
and with that purchase, i'll be selling off 2 neckstraps, one is the 40D's one and the other was from my 400D. and as of now, i've a buyer who wants to buy both for $20.

SHOPPING!
Yes, i bought my camera bag today! it was kinda cool. i went peninsular plaza/funan with the intention of paying at least $160 for the bag. i tried looking for TCW but couldn't find the stupid shop! so nevermind, i went in Cathay Photo first. i saw the bag," WOW why $320??? " then the salesman said," oh this month we have a 50% discount sales so its only $160" sighh i was thinking... only a fool will believe that fella.
so i told myself," aiya just cross to funan and see la. maybe john 3:16 can gimmi a better bargain."
so i walked out of cathay photo. just as i passed the 2nd shop after cathay, i saw the exact same bag sitting at the shelf of the shop. so i asked...
Me: sir, how much is the lowepro rover AW II?
Boss: $130
Me: *eyes open wide* oh cool okay ( so as i was about to step out of the shop...)
Boss: eh wait wait, come back, i give you good price. $120
Me: erm... $110?
Boss: sorry la boy, too low already
Me: okok. $115?
Boss: deal.
HAHAHA
so yea. from a price of $160. i saved $45 and bought it for $115. i am pleased.
in the late afternoon. headed down to airport because monica would be flying back to melbourne.

camera bag hunting.
yes, i'm camera-bag hunting currently. although i'm giving myself a month to get it before i fly off. my reason for buying it is because i would want a camera backpack with me during my stay in europe so that i can be as hands free as possible, and with the help of the waist belt, it can certainly lighten my load to a certain extend.
i've been trying to convince myself to get one for the past half of the year but couldn't find a reason too. but since now i've a reason to buy and i've the money to, i'm going for it.
so i guess i'll be making a trip down to funan/peninsular plaza either tmr or friday to take alook at the bags. hopefully i can find the Rover AW II. reviews have said that its pretty strong and large.
hmmm as for the ultra wide angle lens, i'm hoping glorijoy can lend me her 12-24 or i'll just rent it from desmond from clubsnap. $100 for 9 days.

All for Love
i decided to stay overnight in school last night because of the Scouts Recruits Camp and also the Venture Survival Camp.
it was about 10.30pm last night. matt and i decided to walk to the entrance of the 'jungle' where the Ventures will go in, at mount rosie road. then as the cars went by, they all slowed down and looked, as though Mas Salamat was caught or something. one driver even stopped and asked if he needed to call the police. wah, thats King man!
oh well.
i guess going back for scouts as a leader or senior does bring back loads of memories as a recruit.
oh well, so today.. thank God the scouts went scouts HQ at bishan, i took that free ride down to bishan because i started work at 1pm.
i swear... today's shift was the most screwed up shift i ever did. it totally screwed the whole meaning of valentine's day man...

WELL, the only good thing about today is that my dad has booked the flight tickets for my mum and i. flying off on the 20th night at 10pm via KLM and coming back on sunday afternoon via Air France. i wanna go check out the airlines soon and see what interesting stuff they've got.

i hd a rather pleasant surprise when i got into the car after work last night...
mummy: ziteng, you want to go UK?
me: *WHAT???* okay! when?
mummy: end next month, you and i fly there to meet er jie(2nd sis)
me: oooooo. awesome.
so basically, i'll be going to Europe on the 20th march next month. from what my dad says, my mum and i will most probably be flying KLM or Air France or MAS to amsterdam airport, then take a domestic flight to New castle, then we take a train to durham and stay there for 2 nights with 2nd sis.
after that, the 3 of us will take a train down to london for another day or 2(i think). my dad said we shouldn't need to stay in london too long because we've been there. so yea we'll probably fly from london heathrow to paris OR take the eurostar train to paris.
here come to fun part...
upon arriving at Paris airport, we'll take a coach straight to... DISNEY LAND! and we'll most probably be staying in Holiday Inn in disney land itself. from what my dad says, the hotel and affordable and good. so we'll spend another 2 days at DISNEY! then on our last night we'll spend the night in paris itself to visit the Louve (or however you spell that) and of cos the tallest steel piece in paris... and on 27th/28th march, we either fly back singapore from paris or take a train back to london and fly from london heathrow.
i so wanna see micky mouse...

yesterday.
so basically. yesterday i had lunch with my sis cos she was on leave. we went sakae sushi for lunch then went novena for coffee.
after that i went for work.
#1 lunch at sakae sushi at wheelock place.
#2 went to haagen dazs, velocity, for coffee. haha
so basically after cleaning up the shop. i took out the camera.
#3 alicia and i were sharing a Berry Mosaic. we're like eating $13.90 worth of ice cream for FREEEEE
#4 jovin's last day yesterday so we all took our turns to have a picture taken with him.

Today's was jovin's last day at haagen dazs. kinda sad that he's leaving because he has really taught alot since i first started working in haagen dazs. he'll be flying back to myammar(sp) this friday and coming back on the 17th of april. we really hope to see him again :)
OH WELL... after work today was juts plain camwhoring time. even my boss(in black pants) joined in the camwhoring!

during work today i told my bosses i was going for a steamboat dinner after work, they started singing ," row row row your boat...." HAHA. my bosses... sighh
yea so after work i made my way to douby ghaut for the steamboat dinner. did some shooting. i'm officially broke:( i spent almost 400 dollars this week. well, mainly its because of the camera. but yea, i can't wait for my pay at the end of the month.
Ziteng is pleased by the performance of the 40D at ISO 1600

i kinda wanna go swimming but i'm still fearful from that near hit i got the other day. oh well, maybe i'll go swimming next week, if i have the time, cos next week onwards would be busier for me at work.
oh well, at least there is badminton tonight!

Me: Err, i'm hoping till work as much as i can till end next month will my school starts, then when i start school i'll work lesser, still keeping the 8 working hours per week.

Me: Huh? How do you know he thinks that way?
Janice: Remember the time your father, sis and you came to eat in haagen dazs. when your sis called for the bill Rowel was at the cashier. He was asking me whether he should give you the 25% staff discount, in the end, he decided to give you. and while he was giving the discount he said he wanted to give because you are very hardworking.
Me: Oh okay... then what do you think?
Janice: I think you're very hardworking too, thats why we actually want you to stay here as long as possible.

i'll just get straight to the point, i almost got knocked down by a car while cycling today. if i had left home just 1sec earlier i would have gotten knocked down. if i hadn't jammed on my brakes and turned the front wheel right i would have gotten knocked down.

yesterday was an awesome day... i managed to sell my camera without that many problems. and i got my 40D without any problems.

a rather cute-shocking-funny moment happened during work yesterday.
around 3pm a mother and her young young daughter(looked to me either 2 or 3 years old) came in to haagen dazs... so i served them one set of the menu. after a while the mother called for the waiter, so since i was the nearest to them i took their order.
i think the mother ordered like 2 scoops of ice cream and one waffle, so after taking their order i had to take back the menu. just as i took the menu off the table, the little girl screamed," OI!!!!! " to me, as though i was stealing the menu away. HAHAHA my goodness so so funny! then the mother said," you OI what OI, the Kor Kor serving you leh!"
oh well, one of the joys of working, meeting different people...
