Founder's Day Celebration
wow, today from steven's road all the way down to my school were gurkas and police men patroling the streets. they even stopped buses for random checks. kinda cool. i heard they searched the whole of SCGS yesterday...
today was my school founder's day celebration. the actual day is actually on 1st march but dunno which smart person go make celebration today.
parade started smoothly, and i still dunno who the guest of honour is. haha snapped a couple of shots. close to 150. after the parade the rest of the school went to the auditorium for the award ceremony, i slacked with mr chay, oliver, matt tang and kian chew at the canteen. haha we were talking about the JI leader who escaped. kian chew thinks he's hiding in the old police academy. WOW smart idea. haha
and my friend frederick brought is canon 60d plus the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. WOW damn sexy lens, BUT expensive and heavy. haha 1.5kg leh... the lens alone. i tried the lens. gave up after 5 mins. its too heavy.
after everything i went to the futsal court with my classmates and played arnold's PSP. virtual tennis 3 is the bomb man. haha!
then i met up with gerald and made our way to KAP. waited along the roadside for priscilla to come out. walau take so long... i wasn't even supposed to be there la. i should have been home. and i saw my aunty's car, my cousin siyue who i kinda expected to see her cos we were standing at the overhead bridge. and we saw pho. haha! crazy girl.

just a dream
not sure if anyone watchs the new chinese 9 o'clock show on channel 8. shows about how the owners of thier 1 room flats survive...
though sometimes TV kinda add more details in the show but in actual fact. there are such people in singapore. people living in homes where there isn't electricity and water supply due to the outstanding payments... some even beg people for money.
i think just a coupld of days back on the New Paper there was an aritcle about this family saying they only go orchard road twice every year. the kids walk to school everyday and the mum just walks to the market to buy food and the father drives a motorcycle to work everyday spending most of the annual income on it.
and upon reading a post of a friend of mine... parents losing thier jobs anytime, not enough money to pay for utility bills. i see these things even in my school. even in my class. i feel kinda bad now... since i've got the camera i've been eagerly trying to get more stuff asap and even telling that friend of mine that i've got money but not allowed to spend. man i shouldn't have said that... and furthermore it was pretty recent when i siad it.
when i was P6 a sunday school teacher introduced a song to my class and in the chorus it goes," the good things that you've got are for many just a dream, so be thankful for the good things that you've got" this is true isn't it...
i've been living the past few years thinking i've got not enough in everything but in actual fact i've a house to sleep in, a car to be fetched around a comfortable bed and many many good friends....

i was really unhappy this morning cos i feel that some poeple take advantage of themselves and boss people around. just beause of a small thing someone just blew it up. really annoying!
during EL lesson we were supposed to say a speech in front of half the class. i certainly hope i didn't spead out of point.
i really love this shot. this was taken when the 2 F-16's charging at each other at about 900km/h swiftly turning just missing each other just about 3 metres. it was really amazing. sadly i wasn't fast enough to take them just side by side. =(

Singapore Airshow 08'
i would say it was a really amazing experience.
we reached expo at 10am. thankfully, because of the $5 charge if you take the bus from expo. there weren't many people. so my dad and i managed to reach CEC at 10.30am. the security was really tight. even before we get into the CEC we needed to clear at least 3 security checks.
we then walked around, snapped a few shots with the 400d first cos i was indoors. then we went outdoors where all the planes are... like the A380, apaches, pumas. really amazing stuff.
then sun was really hot then as it just passed 12noon. and soon after... the Black Knights came. the highlight of the airshow. i would say the display was really awesome... they really test the F-16s to the limits. can you imagine... an average F-16 can travel 10000ft in 10 seconds??? thats like super sonic speed.
i took over 110 shots with both cameras. i would say both served my needs today individually. but msot shots came from the olympus camera.
at 1pm i had this damn bad headache, really felt like fainting... so i decided to leave with my dad cos initially i wanted to stay the whole day. haha dumb right?

i really can't wait to go for the airshow... i just read clubsnap, a commenter said that if one were to reach expo at 10am to get the
$5 shuttle service at changi Exibition centre(CEC), that person will only reach there at 12 noon. and by then, the black knights performance is over.

and so happen... my dad is only leaving church at 9.30 meaning we'll reach expo at 10am. ARGH!!! and why $5??? you know... for people to take cabs in... before they start the journey they already need to pay $10.60? $2.80 for the normal ride and $8 for a surcharge. WOW! and i also heard the crowd control really sucks.

pain
i dunno why but the past few days my body has been aching. serious aching like some old man like that.
after tuition in the morning today i cycled to my aunty's house to collect her camera. and she just bought a PSP slim!!! RAHH i wanna play!!!
and by looking at the picture below, the bag isn't very small. the fact that it can fit 2 dSLRs plus a battery grip. it ain't very small. can you imagine i cycled all the way home with a deuter bag on my shoulders and that camera bag? haha it was a cool experience but damn tiring.
yeah thats what i'll be bringing for the Airshow tomorrow. i don't really favour using olympus cameras but i need it because my aunty's lens is a 18-180mm. but because oly camera have a 2x crop sonsor, the actual focal length is 360mm. Perfect for shooting high to the sky.
but i'll be bringing my 400d as well, for ground shots. thankfully my aunty's camera bag is big enough. =)

today was world scouts day for scouts and thinking day for guides.
mr fong took me out of the contingent and asked me to help him take photos. i didn't really felt like taking but OH WELL, i didn't have to stand at attention for so long. :)
then when i got back to class i realised a classmate of mine got caught having cigarettes in his bag. i think it was a really not-smart thing to do manily because he just got out of the Boy's Home 2 weeks back. and because of that i think my form teacher was really upset... and since then, those of my classmate who smoked went to the toilet and hide thier packs.
after school went paragon for my dental appointment. he first took photo's of my mouth then my teeth and my face which i've no idea why he did it. haha. then he took the mole of my teeth, after that an X ray.
headed to bishan after the appointment and bought some birthday cards then got home.
and i can't wait for the airshow!!!

today sucked.
i was almost sent to DC because my name wasn't reflected in the attendance list when i went for the flagday. and i bet everyone would have prove i was there because i was exchanging money with them. haha
and now my bank account is left with $*437 cos i brought over $850 to my mother's bank account. =( but after that i went sakae sushi for lunch. hehe
tomorrow is world scouts day... still sounds much better then Thinking Day, for the guides. HAHA as though guides are damn dumb like that. and so this means i need to wear my full u tmr.
and also tmr, i've got my dental appointment. and did you know Singapore made it to the 2010 youth olympics?

tough club
i was parade commander today. it has been a really long time since i last done. i think about a year now. and i can't shout for nuts in the mornings... my voices sounds like a 99 year old toad.
S&W was damn crazy today... and my classmates and i don't wanna pay that $36 cos we know within the next few weeks we won't be going anymore.
EL was damn wierd today. our EL teacher was like in a really bad mood... her usual style of teaching is that she'll joke around with us and play around too. BUT today... NO!!! she had a straight face. damn scary la.

last night i went to Sim Lim Sq to buy silicon for my camera box. bought it from Alan Photo. it was standard to buy it at $5 for 500g.
this morning in church was my very first time playing drums for worship. i was kinda nervous but i think i managed to follow the beat.
was thinking... when i grow up and have saved up a huge sum of money. i'll buy cameras and equipment and rent to people. seeing that a SLR is rent for about $150/day. if i were to rent to 15 people i can cover the whole cost of it... but then again... is it worth it?
but i definetly wanna aim to be an event photographer and wedding photographer.

i woke up at like 6.45am this morning cos i needed to piss damn badly. then is aw the clock," aiya got 30 more minutes to sleep." so i changed my alarm to 7.30am instead of 7.15am... slept again and when i woke up... 8.31am! ARGH and i needed to be at tanglin mall at 9am.
haha rushed like mad la. cabbed there.
reached there, saw qi tai, ashiq and arnold getting out of arnold's mum's van. and saw andreas smoking wheat.
we then collected our tin cans and the first place most of my class went. Macs! not to ask people for money but eat... well, cos i haven't eaten breakfast then. i did some business, i had like $30 of coins so everyone changed money with me. hehe yeah so we ate there till like 10.30 am then arnold and i went to the foodcourt below to do 'business'.
haha then at 11.50 arnold and i returned our tin cans and i got adicted to Virtual Tennis 3. shit la the game is damn good.

this morning i had to raise the state flag. my goodness it was so windy i almost lost my grip on the rope! but thankfully the flag managed to reaach the top at the right time. =) AND do you know... today is total defence day? i had no idea. haha
tomorrow the whole sec 4 and 5 level needs to go for a flag day. RAHH! we need to do the collection at tanglin mall. my goodness.

when its the 14th of feb every year, you'll see teens walking around with a plastic bag of flowers... some, bags of flowers.
today was really a sucky day, in the morning we had a temperature taking for like 1 whole period. waste time la, cos we had PE. hehe
and later did i found out i was in sports and wellness aka TAF CLUB. RAHH! i'm like 180cm tell and 83 kg. overweight meh? wow i just revealed my height and weight. haha!
saturday i need to go for flag day. stupid la i got my A1 for cca already still must do this... oh well.

while i was at my aunty's house for dinner last thursday, i was wondering...
because my aunty was busy cleaning the kitchen and i was wondering,"why do ladies or mothers or homemakers never stop cleaning thier kitchen" then i think think think... and i thought to myself,"whats the difference, men, in general you'll always see them cleaning thier cars"
and if both sexes were to change jobs... the end results would be a faliure because a guy would prob at most just whipe the tables(thats what i'll do) and the ladies would prob just wash the car.
kinda wierd.
oh well, school is getting really busy. i really wished i didn't have to go thru another year of EL lessons. =(

tired
dennis asked me today to be a 2nd photographer at a wedding. WHAT? i'm so not man even though i would really want but for the benefit of the couple i shouldn't. and its pretty crazy la, the couple would prefer SJ or me to do it where they can actually get a professional to shoot it and it will be so much better even though it costs more.
today my sunday school class came over to my house. most of us came from church, daniel came at like 10am when we were all still in church... so sorry. we met sarah at potong pasir then came straight to my house.
we slacked abit, pho played xbox, sarah and julien were slacking and the rest were partying. haha then we ordered lunch. PIZZA! then we played mah jong! and 99(this new game tin tin taught is) and some played blokus.
i didn't join them for dinner because i needed to finish up my work...
my niece and nephew. she happens to be 2 years older than me. which means even before i was born i was already an uncle. HA

CNY
today was a good day. took over 200 shots but deleted half of them... and i didn't know a lumix flash works with a canon camera.
in the morning i went to my grandmother's house(mother's side) for breakfast. then proceeded to my 3rd uncle's house for visitation. he's the one that stays next to PM. then went to tampanies to my 1st aunties house for visitation again then to my 1st uncle's house at maple woods for lunch.
and by the time i reached gerald's house was like.... pretty late.
i'll post a few pics at a time or even 1 the least for the next few days or week or months. i believe with gerald and amos tomorrow i'll come home with about 150+ pics.

the reds are coming
i kinda camo down with a really bad runny nose so i didn't really enjoy my chinese new year eve and the steamboat dinner.
then my sisters, father and i played poker and i owned them! then we played blokus but sadly... i lost. =( when my class comes over for the CNY home visitation i'll ask joshua to teach them...

gosh chem pract today was so long but interesting. i hate the smell of all the substances. one smelled like green tea
after recess the upper sec proceeded to the concert hall for the CNY concert. i thought it wasn't planned properly at all but the malay item was good. hushsha and hakim were performing.

cny planning
as next sunday is chinese new year home visitation for youth. my class would be visiting my home for the celebration. basically because my house is most central to everyone's house... well, most of us. people like sarah and tin tin would have a long journey home but the rest is relatively near. i wonder what will we even do... i guess they could cycle(people like tin tin), blokus or xbox... hmmm
after youth today i went out lunch with gerald, tin tin, sarah, wei wei and joshua to PS. then to the arcade. HA! i own in daytona!
in the evening i went to my uncle's house for a family gathering. you know what? my uncle stays nex tdoor to the Prime Minister of Singapore? haha hard to believe right? he lives in a really big landed property with a really huge swimming pool... oh well. shan't say more.

today during Super Teens we seen and felt many eye opening stuff... you don't get to see these type of stuff everyday or anytime. it just feels good seeing eveything face to face.... truely amazing...
the new canon EOS 450D is out... but not in singapore yet. for the 350D and the 400D, the camera uses the compact flash(CF) memory card while the new one uses a SD card. i think this move by canon SLR uses doesn't really benefit us due to the change in memory cards. BUT this move will affect digital camera users like canon IXUS and certain Powershot users. and people who use nikon cameras can too change to the 450D as well cos they use the SD memory cards for thier cameras... i don't understand why the 450D needs a new battery grip( BG-E5) when the E3 and E5 is the same size.
i'll wait to see what the 500D is like... and the 50D and the 6D or 7D...
