starting to pack my stuff. SJ is giving me advice on what equipment to bring. i think i'll be damn embarass of myself. people like vicky and some others are bring bagpacks. i'm bringing a huge trolley bag. haha.
all in all i'll be bringing the trolley back with an empty hand carry bag inside. my deuter bag and a camera bag and camera pouch for the A70. travelling light? haha

burning fats
i went to my grandparents house this morning to collect the camera from my aunt.
i'll be bring 2 cameras up to malacca. a canon powershot A70 and an olympus E-330 with 2 batts, lumix flash a 14-45mm f/3.5-6.3 and a 18-180mm f/3.5-6.3(still thinking about it) oh... and a hell lot of AA batts. haha no la maybe bout 8 only. 4 rechargable for the A70 and 4 normal ones for the flash.
hmmm, i need to start packing my barang barang tomorrow. i actually wanted to start today... but no time.

more than a shoe box
tomorrow onwards till the folllowing tuesday i won't be going work. and yesterday and today were the only 2 fulls days i worked where i didn't get any paper cut. days are getting better... haha
i'm planning to start my packing tomorrow. my style is that i take my own sweet time to pack. when i don't feel like packing i'll go do something else... then when i feel like packing again i'll continue on. wierd right? haha i think the stuff that i'm bring up from church is more than a shoe box la. oh well, once i reach there i don't think i'll be bringing them back to singapore.

done done
yesterday was a real fun day. but the sad thing was that i was still on leave(made to be on leave). and last night i had a really cool dream till my dad woke me up. RAHH. haha
today i wasn't suppose to go work. but i needed to go office because i needed to staple the mission trip booklets. well, thats the advantage when you work in a printing company and your dad is one of your boss. haha. yeah so the booklets were stapled... and i didn't expect the booklets to be trimed but later did i realise that it was a bad idea. some parts got cut off. yeah then after the trimming my uncle helped me wrapped it up. kinda cool. i only asked for stapling and they did everything else.
so because of this i just stayed on for work = PAY!!!
the following days i'll be posting some of my favourite shots taken 2 weeks back during the JDS games in church. really enjoyed using SJ's 400D
cheryl at one of the rooms. i never imagine i'll have such an idea for a shot. well, it triggered me when i took a pic of gloria and cherilyn behind the glass door.

what a day.
went church in the morning to print the mission trip booklets. printed with sarah and jess. and i helped mr koh burn the 110 CDs. he gave me a free copy. =)
in the afternoon gerald, ryan, me, monica and del went to elroi's house to chill.
anyway, yes so mr koh gave me the copy of the 110 pics. i'm not a pro or anything but i'm sad to say that the pictures could have been taken batter. i was quite dissapointed on Thomas' shooting.
but i'm thankful that i know his mistake. he didn't have a bounce card or a Gary Fong's lightsphere... and he set his camera at manual. his Av was at f/4 and Tv was at 40. when he lent me his camera i changed to 60. and his white balance is wrong too.
i'm not saying his skill sucks or what. but because when i reason things out i can learn too. taking one of his shot as an example...
look at valerie's right hand, because Tv(shutter speed) is at 40 her hand is blured due to her movement.
but Thomas also captured some nice moments...
this pic of ms kwok and gloria is taken far away... can tell. the image is sharp.
i'll post some pics again another time. file damn big.

lunch plans.
i can never imagine i'll go all the way to somewhere near eunos for lunch with gerald and monica.
i almost got lost while going there. it was quite cool. haha
there has been a change in the groupings. haiz i just can't understand why things are like that. shall not comment on it yet.
tomorrow i'll be going down to church with sarah and jess to print the booklets. hopefully they are approved for printing... then in the afternoon its Superkids at farrer park pri.
hmmm, i wonder what would the journey be like up to malacca.

i wasn't allowed to work today. not that i have exams, or i'm sick... but there weren't enough stuff to do in the factory side. so sad. today no pay. =(
before i requested to uncle jon about what i would like the Groups to be. i had in mind who would pair up with each other. when i saw the different teams i was overjoyed. everything that i hoped for were before my eyes. i then requested to uncle jon whether instead of 2 big teams whether we group break into 4 groups. then again he agreed. and this was exactly what i want.
i keep having a feeling that someone isn't happy with this 4 group thingy. well, there were only 2 simple reasons why i wanted it this way. 1, easier to move around. 2, easier to communicate with each other. yes, people not happy with what i did. it wasn't just me who did it. another 4 people from my year did it with me and i kept telling uncle jon that if he wasn't happy with this idea we could just forget about it. but thankfully he saw my point and the other 4 did too.
wlel, i just wanna make things clear in case there is any misunderstanding.

i haven't been there for so long. the last time i went there was when i was Pri 5. oh well, i think it would have changed alot.

still true.
for every full day i work. i get a paper cut. i just got another one today. work was quite slack today. i spent most, i mean, all of the time holding a roll of double sided tape and a pen knife.
i always thought that the malacca trip was still a couple of weeks time. but yesterday in church while watching the mime i suddenly realised that hey, its in 2 weeks time. in fact its 1 week and 6 days time.

orange stuff.
church today was very fun. when i first stepped into the intermediate room i thought i would only be taking at most 10 pictures of the 5 actors... then aunty clara came up to me," you help me take pictures today can?" WOOHOO... i was how happy la. HAHA so i spent the rest of the 2 hours just snapping and snapping.
i love the 50mm F/1.4!
after the whole thing a group of us went to PS. actually initially i was supposed to go east coast to cycle with sarah and jess but i just had this super strong feeling that it would rain. oh well, yeah we went to PS then unknowingly we split so gerald, daniel, seth, leonard and i went pastamania. the pizza was real good. if i bought it i would have eaten the whole thing to myself. haha.

i'm in trouble. the 5 random shots that i took of seth, nicholas, jerald, britt and cheryl are crap. they looked really good on the camera screen but when it comes onto the computer screen. it looks like crap. well, because i took under low lighting conditions... so i'll use SJ's 400d tomorrow and try it out.
today i attended uncle wee hin's wedding at Marriott. not bad actually. in fact it was really good. the food was good. =) i felt that i was overly dressed. jessica was there she should know. i was wearing my cufflink white shirt and my dad was wearing short sleeves. rahh. oh well.
then because the wedding ceremony ended kinda early so my parents and i walked over to tangs which was just next door... my went to the 2nd level to see the ladies stuff. my dad and i went to the 3rd level for the guys stuff. OMGosh when i went to the Goldlion section they had this whole damn big table of Van Garie cufflinks! WOW!!! i want. HAHA! i also saw this really nice shirt. oh man i wanna buy another pair of cufflinks. =))

its kinda true what uncle moses said. "the devil is working in us the past few weeks and will be the next 2 weeks." because of the stress that was brought by the pile of work given to us i just got so impatient and pissed- up with some people. almost even blowed my top. i need patience.
today was a rather slack day... because thankfully uncle moses gave sarah and i have 1 more week for the prog booklet. and tin tin is going US tonight! RAHH!
oh and today before lunch was damn funny. we ordered macs back and the delievery man came in a taxi to bring the food. HAHA!

all i wanted to see was whether you all would have the same reaction to the photographer at clubsnap. all four comments expressed here were said countless times on the forum. this discussion or heated discussion started in the begining of 2007 this year, even till just 1 week ago, the discussion was still going on. the person who started it even had to close the discussion.

from the way i see it. it all comes down to perspective... its up to each individual himself or herself to decide. for me, i will shoot it. why? because i feel that there is nothing wrong for a photographer to shoot for them. like what priscilla says, "its just a job." but now some might ask," what if you put it in the religious context that we shouldn't encourage gays or lesbians." but is someone being employed to be the wedding photographer given a status that he or she is supporting gays or lesbians? or maybe he or she is just doing his or her job.

chessing.
yesterday was foochow methodist's 110th birthday celebration. wow... our church is actually one of the oldest churchs in singapore. then after the service we moved on to habour front for dinner.. the food wasn't that bad. gerald, gloria, daniel and i got real bored.
and the photographer, thomas, lent me his 30D. wow, i used his 14-40mm f/4 and 28- 135mm lens. sweet stuff man.
i had my o level CLB paper today, was really easy. after that my dad picked me for work. got back in time for lunch. haha meals are important. =) then i started work.
i wonder anyone here plays chinese chess. some might think its a cool game so might think its for losers some might think when they play it at night they can't sleep because it stresses thier mind as they think too much...
well for me, it relaxes my mind. haha. serious. i can play one game at 10.30pm and sleep peacefully at 11pm. haha.
anyway, tomorrow is the last day of the week i'm working. =( no pay. well, at least my pay is so far enough to buy a 50mm. =))

i went for micheal and grace's wedding today. it wasn't as 'big' as mr (I typed my at first. sorry)ang's one but its was alright. nice and simple.
after that had a meeting with fang ying, my dad and sis in church to go thru the powerpoint for tomorrow's 110 celebrations.
i need to be in singapore conference hall tomorrow at 1.30pm... i think its gonna be cool.

flowery words
wow good thing my butt doesn't hurt at all after 35km of cycling. i really enjoyed the whole cycling and the time after the cycling at macs. and why is that so? the aircon was cool but gerald didn't like it. haha!
i'm someone who doesn't speak flowery words but i won't need this unlike some people. espeacially someone very much in particular who doesn't appreciate.
initially when aunty clara asked me whether i could go for missions training from the 14th to 17th nov i told her i had to work cos i wanted to earn money. but upon reflecting. don't aunty clara and kui luan have jobs too and KL is heading the company? so for that i'll make sure i go all 4 days. i think i can make do with $140 less... even though thats a price of a 50mm!!! haha!
anyway, priscilla chan, your photography class by ziteng is in my archives April 14th 2007. take a look... might help you a little. =)

i survived
night cycling was fun. but still it was much more fun during the recce.
we reached east coast about 8.15pm, only rented our bikes at 9.30pm which means we slacked at Macs for quite a while. neng yang and amos brought thier road bikes. if i can compare neng yang's one is like a lambo and amos' a mercs. theres really a big difference
by 11.15 we set off. my group was the last group to leave. i was leading the group. kinda fun but whichs means if there was any accident i would be the first to kenna. we went to indoor stadium, played candle war. and VAN is SCARED OF ME! =) and my group won!!!
after that we cycled to One Fulerton where the merlion was. took a break there, then we went to SMU for supper... i swear the food there is damn nice! and i in the end helped gerald, gloria and ryan finish up thier chicken. walau waste food!
after SMU was our last station back to east coast. gerald and i almost got killed because of 2 really stupid taxi drivers. went back east coast and slacked at macs till 8am then we returned the bike. after that my parents came and gave a lift to gerald and eugene.
some might know that i play competitive style of badminton with my cousins and uncles on thursdays... wow i seriously survived man. cycled 35km then played another 2 hours of badminton. haha
this hippo is damn cute.. from my sis' room

paper cuts.
the number of paper cuts i have is the number of days i've worked. serious.
i can't wait for night cycling tomorrow! i've a real strong feeling there would be more group leaders than cyclist. there are like 9 grp leaders and so far the cyclist i know who are going is david, siach, van, gerald, dennis. thats all... but i don't really care who is coming though... i wanna cycle!
so i'll be working half day tomorrow to go home and 'sleep' in the afternoon.. and hopefully my dad can give me a lift home. hehe
this morning's rain was massively heavy. but i was happy... just let it rain the whole of today and tomorrow hopefully the weather would be good. haha
man these few days i've been so tired... hopefully everyone is enjoying thier hols. i'll be enjoying when i get my pay. haha!

my first uncle, also my boss, is damn funny... during work time today he kept talking to me. haha. it was sure the right time he came up to me while at work because i was really tired then...
while working in the production line for the past few days... i always hear my dad telling me in my mind," ziteng remember, in life there are no short cuts." but as i was working today, actually the particular job i do everyday does need me to find shortcuts.. to get the job done in the shortest possible time. wierd ar? haha and i've got alot of paper cuts. =(
and i forgot to ask SJ why the 85mm is so darn cheap!!!
okay now for some camera talk. i'm gonna make this real clear i don't want any misunderstandings, still not happy then there is nothing i can do... all i meant was that i don't like people taking pictures from hp cameras because the quality is very bad and the "ugly" word was referring to the quality.
the reason why i said i can't stand people who take it because, well, people or a better term humans are the ones that need to press the shutter button right? yes thats why i said it. so if this insulted anyone i'm sorry for this.
let me quote from something which me myself and i said and i always say it to people... ' there is no lousy picture in the world because in someone elses eyes the picture might be the most beautiful thing he or she has every seen.'
don't believe me go see my archives on the 15th oct 2007. i said those very words. it doesn't mean just because i don't like the picture it isn't nice. different poeple look out for different details of a picture.
all these years the only thing i pick on for pictures is quality for the only reason... i feel its an important factor for a picture. many might hear me saying," high ISO, high noise level." that is the furthest i go to.
But if anyone who reads this claims that besides my post below i have judged someone else's picture besides the quality and i mean the picture taken by him or her.
if i had insulted anyone reading my previous post i'm sorry, i didn't meant to phrase it that way.

110.
church today was real good. lead in worship. eugene came again...
after sunday school went for lunch with my parents then we went back to church for the 110th prac. practice went well. enjoyed it. the performances were just AWESOME. like seriously, those that are going for the service this coming sunday will be amazed and i really mean it.
prac ended at 4.10 then went to bishan to collect my jeans and changed a pair of cufflinks. G2000 sucks! and as i was walking from J8 to the multi story carpark where my sis was waiting in the car.... i saw 4 of my classmates sitting at the steps. guess what were they doing? smoking.
oh well, in the evening had a family dinner. it was my First Uncle's, also my boss, 68th birthday celebration. now all my older cousins around the table know i work in the family company. haha
but sadly next week i'm only working for 2 and a half days. monday, tuesday and wednesday till noon cos theres night cycling!
and i can't stand people who post pictures taken from thier phone cameras online. damn ugly... quality is so bad.

who at my age would work on a saturday morning? me. haha. yeah worked this morning till lunch time. today was rather slack cos there weren't that many poeple in the office because its a saturday. all i know is that i've already earned more than $100. haha! i wanna by an 85mm f/1.8. its only only $160 la. cheap.
come to think of it... why in the world is the 85mm so damn cheap??? i mean a 50mm is like $500+ leh.
in the evening i went bishan for dinner and bought a pair of jeans... i'm in need of more jeans or pants now.
oh well, church tmr!

work work work.
my work today was more fun than yesterday, yesterday was just damn slow moving. at least today there was a little bit of fun. my cousin, sixuan came to Welon(family comapny) today to help out on the job that i was supposed to be doing. did till bout 11.45 then the both of us went to eat lunch together cos we both agreed that eating with the other adults is damn wierd.
and i'm so ashamed of myself, today then i realised si xuan is 1 year older than me. haha. if you people notice. in the Lim family( father's side), the brother's names start with Teck. the sisters names start with Sor or Soh, the nephew's name start with a Zi( thats why i'm ZIteng) and the neices names start with a Si. kinda cool right?
anyway, after lunch i was on my own working... worked all the way till 6.45pm then i followed my dad to indoor stadium to pass some flyers to a basketball team there.
then we went to church cos he had to meet someone and so happen it was the kindergarten concert.. gloria, del, kheng ho, nic hui were there... then we went home...
going back to work tmr...
